The Flash-driven Skyfire Web Browser for iPad does this by plugging into mobile browser extensions like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Amazon.
These all appear in the toolbar at the bottom of the browser page and can be pulled into view and used at any time. For example, you can post updates to Facebook or Twitter and personalize your toolbar by adding optional plug-ins like CNN, Google Reader, Wikipedia and Groupon.
You can bring up multiple browsing windows, add bookmarks, expand windows and turn on private browsing, while one of the neater features (on paper, it was slow when we tested it) sees Skyfire find related apps within articles.

Instant messaging service imo.im has enjoyed some success with its iPhone and Android apps and launched a revamped iPad app this week.
Now on version 2.0 (free, iTunes), the iPad app lets users make voice calls to imo messengers users on Android or iOS, providing both callers are connected to WiFi, 3G or 4G.

iPad users can also embark on group photo sharing and upload photos to their friends in real-time, a                     feature which came to the iPhone last month.
